The nursing profession is expected to be one of the top 100 fastest growing occupations in California. I was proud to visit the high-quality Nursing Program at COC, and happy to learn about how they are working to meet the ongoing needs of the nursing workforce.

The creative economy makes up nearly 11% of California's economic output. So it was really nice to see COC's relevant and rigorous Media, Entertainment, and Arts program prepare creative workers with industry skills to get jobs and thrive in these creative industries.

2017 Small Business & Non-Profit of the Year

I was proud to honor Mike Puetz, owner of Henri's Restaurant in Canoga Park, at the 2017 California Small Business Day Awards Ceremony in Sacramento. Read more about the annual award ceremony here.

Our Non-Profit of the Year for 2017 went to the Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF), an organization which supports local education initiatives throughout the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). Read more about CSF and their visit to Sacramento here.

It's important to investigate the potential for jobs and understand the nature of existing employment. My recent visits with employers like Aerojet, Bobrick Washroom,  and MGA Entertainment helped start the necessary conversations about competitive industries and good paying manufacturing jobs in Southern California. Read more here.
