A Look Back at March in the District, Women of the Year, and more!

At the close of Women’s History Month, I wanted announce that we were so overwhelmed with nominees that we've decided to host a District-wide Women's Leadership Summit to honor a number of leaders across the community, in areas like education, health care, public safety, faith, media, climate and social justice. Stay tuned for the announcement of the finalists next month!

Meanwhile, we're working hard in the Capitol to address the budget deficit while continuing to move projects forward at home. You'll get a deeper dive into our legislative agenda in the upcoming newsletter but we're trying to stay focused in two general areas:

  • Solving deadly, everyday problems: from extreme speeding, to teen mental health and social media addiction, people arrested with severe mental illness or, rising extremism at schools, we know this moment requires the reconstruction of trust in institutions.
  • Fixing overlooked California infrastructure and climate vulnerabilities: in addition to advancing a bond for the November ballot, we are looking at everything from atmospheric rivers in LA, to mosquito infestations to private jet pollution.

Faithfully yours in service,
