Four Los Angeles area state legislators are in Israel this week visiting with politicians and families on both sides of the conflict as criticisms of the Israeli invasion of Gaza and calls for a ceasefire continue to rise at home.




An event designed for high school students to "stand up for intolerance and injustice and discrimination — and to encourage our local leaders to do the same" drew about 100 people to the Agoura Performing Arts Center on Saturday, according to organizer Nicholas Moran.




Children, some as young as 4 or 5, are being raised on a diet of media, and experts say that it’s up to parents to control how much and what kind of content is digested by youngsters and teens.




Stern Urges PUC To Support Energy Reliability & Independence




State Sen. Henry Stern on Monday announced a proposal to “double down” on clean-energy storage in Southern California, a move he said would be a step toward limiting reliance on natural gas and other fossil fuels, and toward safeguarding ratepayers.

Straws—a whopping 12,000 of them, all recovered from our local beaches—are the medium for the colorful art structure. It stands 15 feet tall and can be viewed from the shopping area’s lawn or even underneath it to get a closer perspective. The unveiling of this unique art piece coincided with the first day—June 1—of the City of Malibu’s ban on single use plastic straws, utensils and stirrers.




SACRAMENTO – In the wake of one of the deadliest school shootings in our nation’s history, State Senator Henry Stern (D-Canoga Park) and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office (LADA) have introduced the “Juvenile Gun Safety Act” (SB 1281) to close a loophole in California law that allows individuals who have committed violent offenses as minors to escape prosecution for illegally owning or possessing a firearm in violation of the law.
